A mental illness poem

The reset button is broken on this device

You cannot will a broken machine back to life

You may press the button again and again

Your good thoughts and well wishes will do nothing in the end

This temperamental technology gives the illusion of control

You can't wish yourself unstuck, make the parts become whole

The buttons, the triggers, the switches and wires

Your mind is a circuit but the paths are on fire

One small tear breaks the whole, it's quite simple you see

Damaged pathways mean minds can't function properly

Your disappointment is heard, but these buttons aren't magic

You need tools to repair or the outcome is tragic

Your frustration's unfounded, machines don't last forever

There's a way to keep trying, but some paths might be severed

A factory reset could resolve the problem

But data might not be recovered on startup

Reset, Reset, Reset, you yell

But in the end you're only hurting yourself

Sometimes reset buttons are a gamble

They don't always work, they leave things in shambles

Then it's unexpected, they'll press down one day

The reset will happen, a miracle you say

The device isn't worthless, just not 100% reliable

Until it needs a new reset, and you have no control
