A Penny For Your Thoughts
On dealing with intrusive thoughts
Content Warning: themes of intrusive thoughts revolving around harm
A penny for your thoughts?
The person asks me/
But I don't want mine
You can have them for free/
Because who would listen
And not think I'm crazy?/
I know they're irrational,
And yet they still faze me/
Avoid the stairs
Or you'll see you neck breaking/
Don't step on the cracks
Your mother's back's aching/
That cat is real cute
But try not to squeeze/
Just a little too much
And you'd crush her with ease/
Cutting cake with a knife?
Make sure not to fall/
One step and you're dead
And it'd all be your fault/
I see you have pain pills
Left over from surgery/
Better throw them out now
Or you'll end up in emergency/
That person didn't care about you
They hurt you real well/
But revenge isn't worth it
If you end up in a cell/
Wish I could cut my head open
Take a look 'round inside/
But the awful thing is
There's not much that I'd find/
I want them to leave
But here they remain/
Sometimes it'd be easy
Getting hit by a train/
I'm happy-go-lucky
But that's not the real me/
I need help for these thoughts
Or they'll surely kill me/
But now I have therapy
I'm getting some help/
So hey, OCD
You can go f**k yourself/
A penny for you thoughts?
The person asks me/
I'm trying to get better
We'll have to wait and see/
