Soaking Up The Silence

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Senses take over sensibility some days and

Imagination does what it does

Leaving emotions to be whittled away, while

Energy spins, all a buzz

Noiseless commotion incessantly gnaws

Creating a sense of uneasy

Extending a need for a much-needed pause, making the silence seem dreamy

Noiseless commotion incessantly gnaws - mental and emotional overload leading to dreamy silence. This is the third poem I have read this evening in which silence is the consequence of shutting down from either metaphorical or actual noise. I’m beginning to suspect that there is a message here that I need to pay more attention too. Great challenge entry, Kelli!
