Reasons to be flucked off in 2024
There's plenty.
---
Do I really need to say any more?
...
Ye$?
*
Cost of living crisis
But ultra-wealthy are fine
*
Environmental crisis
But looney lefties are fusspots
*
a thousand other little inconveniences to the sense this world is moving forward to a brighter future that can only be solved by taxing the poorest and most needy while the richest and most "important" people are allowed to thrive and prosper.
*
Covid-19 lockdowns - remember those?
the rich had a nice time, didn't they?
While the poor were losing jobs
We
were
all
scared shirtless
It's
easier
being
scared to frucking death
When you're in a fancy flat, mansion
or on a flucking island (If you know, you know, eh Branson?)
*
But Bezos is fine, so we're good
We all buy from Amazon, why complain?
*
Shop local, help local, that's what we can do, but won't
*
But Zuckerberg is fine, our personal details don't matter
We all use the Facebook, Instagram, and/or/delete appropriately, WhatsApp don't we?
*
Staying in contact, is one thing, staying secure is another
That's what we can do, but won't
*
The gap between the richer and the poorer is broader than ever
*
wish there was hope for change
wish there was a cause, a riot, a voice,
but,
until the powers that be, say enough is enough
to their own actions and actions of their cronies, benefactors,
we are all
royally,
but not like Queen Camilla and Prince Floppy Ears,
funked up the hearse without lube
*
Do you want to bend over on your own or would like someone to help you, someone to tighten the shackles?
...
The only thing we have is hope
and decency
*
The decency to use our own wealth for the better and the good of those around us
*
So take your hearsefracking
or
help your neighbours.
*
Your choice
*

Though you are not so fortunate to have been born an Earl, this poem is as clever as anythig penned by John Wilmot. I have therefore added it to the comment thread of the CREATION MYTH! https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/creation-myth-m8dm0x8d%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cstyle data-emotion-css="w4qknv-Replies">.css-w4qknv-Replies{display:grid;gap:1.5rem;}

Great invective here, Paul. I can feel the warmth of your rage.
What a great topic to address and you did it so well. Love the passion in it too. This is very irrelevant compared to poverty but can I just take a moment to complain about how expensive chocolate is these daysπ€I need chocolate to cope with stuff like this but it costs so much!! Great poem Paul!
Honestly, you had me at flucking.
So damn true!!! And I see now why you said there were so many angry rants on Vocal lately. Goodness, have we all just had it then? Wonderful work on exposing this endless chain of bullshit.
Haha, and these are the tame observations! I think the anger at the rich and their luxuries is warranted, though my biggest gripe is HOW they get their money...the immoralities they commit (islands, galore), the cheats they make, the loopholes to keep them safe, etc., etc. It's one of those little windows we all get to see and throw stones at, but nothing will change unless the whole world rises up and replaces the deepest of the deep state (read: deep world) and their corruption. Which won't happen. The blinder we are, the worse it gets for everyone. The blinder we are, the happier we are as individuals...and oh, how I wish for blindness. I find that personal responsibility means little to the world at large in the face of such intentional destruction to every aspect of life from those with the most power, lol. Great for you as a person. But it won't fix these issues. Maybe I'm jaded? Probably. Definitely. Now, back to your poem... (sorry) Love the rawness here. Brilliant use of line breaks and line length...really honed in on the emotions of the speaker, evoking the same in the reader (ahem, clearly, if my rant above is any indicator). "Prince Floppy Ears" lol!
I'm often acutely aware of my own hypocrisy - the talk a talk, and the walk I keep on walking with my Amazon purchases (Less, I buy less) and my plane tickets (it's my luxury, please don't take it away) and my desire for comfort that trumps my desire for change more often than I would like to admit. My anger is verbal. My actions are weak.
This is the ultimate freaking truth! The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Now this needs to be a Top Story!
Hope and decency grab 'em while you can.
Amen! Preach it, brother!

Preach it, Paul!
Paul... I don't really know what to say other than I love the madness behind this piece! The rawness and truth driven passion that birthed this beautiful monstrosity of a poem that shakes the readers morals/ beliefs and understanding to the core! Well don't my friend!
Bang on the mark so hard it almost smarts from the sting! I find your lack of correctly spelt profanity disturbing
No truer words were written. Well said yet is there something we can do? or more to the point, will we be willing to do anything about it? Nice piece
