Ravenous Wolves

Political Liars

By Dan R FowlerPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Ravenous Wolves

Had those who now slumber known life was so short,

There might’ve been less indecision or a different course.

Had they understood that no promises are given nor none kept,

Between taking another step or their next deep solitary breath.

Like those who slumber who have paid the price,

Those still awake would be afraid to roll the dice.

Political games played by idiots that make us sore,

Aren’t for anyone’s benefit especially the poor.

Slander and bias, political carnage and destruction abound,

Ripping all we’ve known destroying what once was sound.

But like those that slumber deep within the earth,

No one seems to care no deeds to correct are birthed.

Some say it’s a new way, an awakening that has begun,

Others proclaim the necessity, integrity, and clarity of some.

Still others plot criminal actions, slander, and disarray,

Hoping to lure ignorant sheep to slaughter on election day.

Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves it is written,

Peering through deceptive rhetoric, understanding the division.

For it’s the sane people who make the call on that day it is said,

To keep slumbering sheep from the butcher's blades slicing heads.
