And another scare fest! You are rockin’ the haiku’s! Good luck on the challenge!
Love that first line <3
Horrible. I’d thing it would be one of the most painful ways to die. But a great haiku, Lamar!
So vivid and chilling. You’ve captured that instant between life and death in a very haunting way.
Then they could be reborn as an eagle and eat the snake hehehe. Loved your poem!
This morning my husband and I were talking about the times we've come across Rattlesnakes on local trails. Perhaps that trek down memory lane made this haiku all the more creepy, but you definitely made my skin crawl. Well done.
Nature man….its metal
Hi - L-Bud ~ Can't imagine even trying to get so much out of a few words as you do...? Ooh, glad you won moola $ for your Leaf Schtick. I pushed bff Kristen in doing one and she won..$200! Asked her "where's my cut" and she said, "you don't need it!" Don't you just hate people that count your money..Hmm! Just a City-Boy: 1st camping trip as a Boy Scout -Twin and I pitched the pup tent next to a rocky stream; no attached floor coverings on tents then. Snake crawled under the opening where the stakes were. We quit the Scouts completely after that. You're having fun with this...Happy ferya! j-bud
🔥 So stunning! Go L-Dub! 🎉💪🏾
Eek, yeah, I'm not afraid of snakes, or not disproportionately so but this is scary.
YIKES! Not a snake person at all. Where's the antivenom?! Good job.
I like how this takes a very real fear—the fear of being bitten by something venomous—and turns it into something surreal. You can feel the narrator’s desperation for the pain to end, even in just a few words. Well done.
This is awesome, Lamar!
