Rain

Drip.Drip.Drip.

It is raining again in suburbia

I can tell not by windows

Or outside sounds

Drip.Drip.Drip.

But by the echoes of raindrops

Falling down

All around

Into buckets on the ground

Drip.Drip.Drip.

Damp wood

Scent of mold

Seeking comfort in my soul

Drip.Drip.Drip.

Clutching knees to my chest

Atop my empty mattress

Drip.Drip.Drip.

Eye twitches

Go with the sound

Drip.Drip.Drip.

The voices have started again

Drip.Drip.Drip....

Echoes stop

Rain has halted

Faint screams

Leaving my dreams

The buckets glow red again

It was raining in suburbia
