Rain

Poem

By Alex BornertPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Rain, Rain, give me pain.

That’s all you do when you reign.

You drown my mind, you drown my thoughts.

But you never stop to think of the costs.

I need to breathe, I need precious air.

Please, oh please just be fair.

My screams for help and my screams of suffering,

Just get drowned out by silent smothering.

My lungs, my lungs, oh you speak in tongues.

Let me go, let me be free.

You’ve engulfed me, my mind’s a sea.

Rain, rain, you drown me so.

Please stop this negative flow.

You’ve done enough, you’ve made your mark.

Now let me go before you ignite a spark.
