Radiant

Ancestors

By Katrina ThornleyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

They were radiant

The words etched

Into stone,

A breathtaking moment,

Their visage captured

In the golden days

Of their youth,

To be remembered

When their brilliance faded,

A story well told

From generation to generation

Bravery and cunning,

The past generation

That we wanted to be,

That we wanted to divorce

As a whole,

Plucking our favorites

From the pile,

From the rubble created

When the lines were drawn

In sand too fickle

To tie down.

They were radiant.
