Quiet Desperation

Not mine, but yours

Quiet desperation leaks out of your pores

You pretend you don't want me

then you pretend you want more

~

Begging me to see how alone you want to be

Just to turn around and tell me how much you love

and only want, me

~

Waiting for a sign from above

Unable to wiggle free from your grip

until I spread my wings like a dove

~

A quiet exit I was able to slip

Would you notice my absence

or carry on with your quip

~

Obsessed with your distance

Only giving in when intoxicated

Next day claiming innocence

~

With the perfect line you baited

Wounds fresh, heart sore

Stab me with a knife that's serrated

~

You pretend you want me more

Quiet desperation leaks out of your pores

Beautifully raw and painfully honest. The push-pull dynamic is so vividly captured here. Really well written.

Wonderfully written. You should turn this into a song!

Ugh. This felt lived. Players going to play I guess. Hate people like that. Well written, Tanya
