Body is fragile, habits are hostile

If you don’t know—
I am a biology researcher.
Not in an active career,
amidst childcare,
still a researcher.
Above you see,
a pile of academic books,
I have authored,
solo or in collaboration—
on probiotics, fermented foods,
nutraceuticals, and more.
These are important,
they sure should be part
of our daily diet,
but that’s not enough!
They are just a small part
of a healthy lifestyle.
Irritants, in any form,
can provoke,
the immune system.
Biological, chemical,
mechanical, or psychological,
inflammatory agents,
if unchecked,
can cause serious illness,
even be fatal.
So, be alert to them.
It’s a shame,
we have a fragile body,
we chase consumption,
we check social media often,
we follow sensation
but don't learn
to nourish our human form.
I try to raise awareness
on various platforms,
responses are lukewarm,
and I already see,
an alarming rise,
in terminal illnesses
and premature deaths,
going by the trends,
which will only aggravate.
So, I leave you here
with an invitation,
to question your choices
and to thrive, free of vices,
