Queen Of Dreams
Inspired by a song on Grave New World by The Strawbs
I was listening to โGrave New Worldโ by The Strawbs and noticed the song title โQueen of Dreamsโ. The lyrics of the song are impressive to0 so I have used them as a guide for my own poem. This a free form with a sonnet base.
The final three lines of my poem are from "The Book of Invasions"
This is the first verse written by Dave Cousins:
Spoke the Queen of Dreams
I was Lord of the Forest
Walked within her paths
Sheltered within her bowers
Pine needles for my pillow
The dove my only true friend
I was Lord of the Forest

It's difficult for me to know where to start with a review of this book as it was, for me, an entirely unique experience and one that I'll probably never have again. I don't want that to be interpreted as unenjoyable but it has left me scratching my head a little and ruminating on its content, its themes and its characters.
