In the shadows looking for light
because I feel it is useless to fight
I am sleepless night after night
I worry for myself and my daughter
That we are sheep in society’s slaughter.
I choose to live my life like no rules harm me.
I find it easier to be kind, to disarm.
To choose peace, I will smirk at societal alarm
Hope blooms best in darkness.
Love looms where you least expect it
We can assume kindness going forward.
I choose to send words of love skyward.
Favor propels luck and light onward.
Braver the people become as we march.
