I told myself working a good job would make me a valuable person.
Until I was working and missed a fungal infection in my lungs.
I got fired, I had time.
I fell in love with an addict
He broke my heart.
He'd binge.
I'd play The Sims.
Instead of recognizing he was using drugs as a reason he was mean.
So I played more Sims, and hoped this would pass.
It didn't.
It was a Wednesday when I left our shared apartment.
Taking my name off the lease.
Only bringing my beloved laptop.
Sure it hurts sometimes.
I realized on that day.
I deserved a life with real.
Friends, Parties, and just fun.
I'm valuable, because I say so.
