proseaic poetic wonder
Five minute poem for Monday evening. You're welcome! Inspired a little by Silver Daux's quick-fire poem.
just a few words
loosely drawn together
to create that piece
of proseaic poetic wonder
that leaves you breathless
scratching your head
at what the how who where it came from
why the words of the wind carrying the dandelion seeds
as the sun flickers like a bathroom lightbulb that needs changing
over a world rising from the dying moments of a night spent in complete darkness
the laughter and tears of joyful embraces as the day begins, the orgasmic brushing of golden, red, brown or grey strands as the scent of that new beginning hangs in the air, offering a sense of hope for the day ahead
yes, we all say, unless we don't and it's one of those days that are better spent in bed, whether alone or tangled in love or if the black dog is howling at the porch of your mind and keeping you locked in your own prison
wait for tomorrow, tomorrow will be better
are you enthralled by drawn in by these words of proseaic beauty teeming with striking resonance
as much as the poet is when penning them

Thanks for reading!

You are so talented Paul. This is beautiful. I just thought I'd tell you, in the fourth last stanza it says 'it'' with no s... I'm assuming it's meant to be 'it's'? I especially adored this part: 'whether alone or tangled in love or if the black dog is howling at the porch of your mind and keeping you locked in your own prison wait for tomorrow, tomorrow will be better' That really spoke to me.
5 minutes?!? Well, I'm a snail! So much dynamite imagery in this couldn't possibly pick a favorite bit! Great work, Paul!
Black dog howling at the porch of your mind!!! Wow. You’re on fire!!
I'm so glad my quick poem could help inspire this! Super fun read. I loved the style of this and how loose it felt all the way through. Poetry is such a cool thing, it can take forever to write or fly out super quickly but both can leave such an impact. Loved this!
Oooo, I especially loved the part of the black dog! This was so Paulitical! 🍩🥐
Such a playful and thought-provoking mix of quirky moments and deep musings! You've got the whole swirl of emotions, from joy to struggle, wrapped in some wonderfully odd phrasing. It's like trying to catch a glimpse of magic in everyday life, even when it feels messy. Gotta love the flow!
I can hear this one! This would be great to wake up to right?! Very encouraging and nicely put together. 5 minute huh. Great job, Paul. Ugh I’m literally phrasing 5 min huh!? Similar to Cathy below (before even reading her comment) but it’s staying!! 😁
I really like that sun/light bulb comparison. That was great, buddy. 5 mins, eh? Bloody well done.
Truly inspired
Love this. Your words was so detailed. And you describe the feeling of art and painting well.
