A Poem for a Bad Day

By Soph HPublished 7 years ago 1 min read
A Cuppa a Day

The Universe has my back

and I'm so thankful for that,

"How do you know?" my mate said,

"It's all just in your head."

I reply;

"Look for the signs in your day, the things that come your way.

The feather floating down from the sky,

a white butterfly fluttering by,

a double rainbow so beautiful and true,

the light surrounding you."

My pal argues back;

"But what about all the bad, the things that make us sad,

the hurt, danger and screams, nothing is as good as it seems."

"Think," I reply to my friend, " is pain really heaven sent?"

"Religion is a manmade thing to distract us from the real truths,

to put us in a place of control far away from the energy that lives and moves."

Become the light that you seek,

become the grace that you long,

feel the love of the world,

we're all different but singing the same song.
