Promised Lands

Claimed by Us in the Name of Glory

Our hands held in dreams

and not once requested details

Black soils near lush souls

inescapable sumptuous

Promise songs

to echo canyon crevasse

Sentient rivers

to channel valleys through intangibles

that bear sandalwood resins

A gentle rise from slumber

pre-empts every law with love

behind a vision

that never tires

Should eyes close

hearts w i d e open

Fertility

gifts a new world longed for

Ecstasy concentration everywhere

So when the children ask

“What was life like before this life?”

Of this we cannot speak

For elation

erased prior existence

Our luxury

saturated in laughter

Sheer frolic at daily life

decimated disharmonious seeds

Peace clambered over delirium

and never looked back

Free

So freedom free

we made promised land together

Hands

always holding hands

and we never

look back

A Confucius says kind of poetry. Wise teachings of the sage. Congrats and well said.

'Hands held in dreams' What lush opening lines. 🌅The metre — the soils the souls the song. Beautifully done. When I thought I wouldn't come across another surprise, you hit us with crevasse and sentient rivers. Wow. You hold your words in command with clarity and patience. Oh the space between the w i d e. Worked so well. My mouth stretched, indeed it did. 🌅This was so good that I can't even tell what made what better. If your words made the sun look brighter, or the sun gave you permission to be the light blow the clouds. Its a struggle. I am blown away. Your poem made me feel happy. An emotion alien to me, but I can feel it now. Congratulations on your Top Story, Dani 🤗❤️🖤
