Mary’s Non-optional Lovelight Continuum

Never enough languages to be grateful in…

Only Grandma

is unbreakable beacon

Silent shine

over sadistic somber

a global menace

naught but light and fire destroys

And She stays attuned

of any status compromise:

Ambivalence breathing too hard

too incoherent

too stupid

Desperate

So obtuse and intransigent

that it fashions darkness paths for overcast souls

Only Grandma

ain't having it

Still silent shine

from Ancestral grounds

She bestows strength luminous

toward ‘close-to-entirely-fed-up-me’

down in depths

I have no business being

about to hurl cutting-edge expletives

when soft light beams familiar

Hums a lantern flicker

I’d recognise unconscious

The kind that traces streams down cheeks

Blesses sight with memory-land glimmers

Anointed flame behind glass

who witnessed a lifetime of injustice

yet illuminated

anyhow

Burning a clearing

command of that “I know” type glow

to signal lighted signpost trails

with 'no nonsense' instruction

Not my Grandchild

To drown my mediocre retort

But I’m near a senior citizen

Unblinking heat glare

Her blaze of light scales whisper

Get. Up.

And what else can I do

but stand and take step after step

towards salvation in ceaseless wisdom-warmth

that has eternity on Her hands

Not taking ‘No’ for an answer

Knows me raised well enough never to backtalk

She-energy-effortlessness

gets me off my knees

my confusion

my grief

my disgust

my storm clouds threatening maelstrom

and maelstrom

guaranteed to cease all existence

but held by Her insistence

to stay this path

behold Her heavenly halo

that burns a redeeming heat that beckons

promises to restore my broken

…And if you don't move your behind fast enough

raise the dying

smack the woken

Inconceivable to ignore

Only Grandma...

A BIG thank you to you for reading!

And mega-lovelight lift from my Grandma to you cuz She was the type who didn't distinguish and just freely gave.

I love this. I'd know it was yours even if it didn't have your name on it, and like everything you do, it feels like it's been distilled down to the rawest version of itself. Absolutely gorgeous.

This is sublime, Dani. I love how everything sounds authentically and genuinely you, and you never try to be anything else. This felt so grounded, heartfelt, and beautiful. Not saccharine, just full of honest sentiment. Stunning tribute and great entry for the challenge.
