One hundred words is not a lot
To write a poem for a shot
At winning D.K.'s super prize,
The chance of praise from colleagues' eyes.
So, what to write to try and provoke,
Or move, or conjure, or merely evoke?
It's hard to think of a poetic winner
When you don't know what to cook for dinner.
I think if I prevaricate
I'll miss the boat, it'll be too late
And so, this verse will have to do
Of one hundred words, honest and true
I ask, judges, to please be kind:
As I had congestion of the mind.

This is brilliantly tongue in cheek. I smiled.
Congestion of the mind, brilliant!
Love it!💖 Favourite line is: “ It's hard to think of a poetic winner When you don't know what to cook for dinner.”🤣Story of my life 😵💫… if someone else would take over cooking, would my writing improve?🤔
Ha! Much appreciated humor!
We were in desperate need of some humor! Thank you so much for this wonderful lighthearted entry! I think the panel will be very amused and I give it 👍👍!!
Bloody hilarious! Love this entry and the rhyme scheme adds so much to the frivolity of it. Sorry have been MIA for a while. A lot going on, so dipping does back in tentatively. Hope you are good :) 🤍
