Prism

Crying Crystals

By Pamela WongPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

My skin is sallow

My blood is red

My stomach turns

at yellow women dead

Stop Asian hate

When you prick us we bleed

It’s not too late

It’s about words and deeds

We say their names

The victims now gone

Grey clouds play games

Threatening rain abound

After the storm there’s a rainbow

A touch of sun in the spectrum

We see through the golden glow

Arches of hues lighten doldrums

I am a dab of paint on a palette

My daughter of color is half white

We voted equality on our ballot

And the blue states showed the light

I’m not afraid of showing my face

To spit on, getting hit, slashed or kissed

We all belong to the human race

When we fight, we’ll cease to exist
