that path

to right back

is nothin' really

but a dead end

I should have known that

lettin' up slack

would push the limit

of us being friends

i let my guard down

and set my heart up

another sad clown

under your bigtop

undone, the healing

that sent me reeling

back to that moment

lost in the feeling

i don't remember

can't remember who i was

in that picture, deadly mixture

with a little buzz

but the truth, the gospel truth

is comin into view

i know i played the fool

and fell for you

but now we're through

cause...

that path

to right back

is nothin' really

but a dead end
