another monday here, in january
another goosebump on my skin
another's premade adversary
as another year begins
another battle with the clock
another year around the sun
another chance that we'll unlock
the answers yet to come
another shot at glory
another promise to be more
another chapter to our story
to be better than before
january came without a calendar
it needs no chit to mark it's time
it runs on what if's and rememberings
arranging inflected paradigms
keeping on track the ways of measuring
the length of time and what will be
holding each season, quarterly
by months added in threes
another day for checks and balances
another sunrise and sunset
another new year filled with promises
for the ones not fulfilled yet
So, here's to a plethora of another's
some we long for some we dread
may we discover a lifetimes' wonder
in the new days that lie ahead

Witty & fantasically-written!
Perfect thoughts for this time of year!! Loved this one. A truly wonderful piece, Kelli :)
I love the way you used “another “ to start each line, beautiful work!
Same here for usually we have several calendars delivered for the new year in November and none yet. Have calendars gone as everything else like phone books. Good job on this poem for a new year.
