Home
Is
where I Am
when I take a deep breath
& close my eyes
in cool darkness
as a seed planted under soil
warm rays touch the surface
water hydrating
to crack me open
& reach up towards the sun
Home within my mothers womb;
my first home
immersed in water
emerging
from out of her
into light
sound
color
words
Home is where we grew up
where I still hear & see my younger self laugh & play
Home is the feeling of colors moving across a canvas
just for the experience
without an end goal in mind
no judgement or critique
playing & creating for the fun of it
present
Home was found on pages & read between lines
& in hearing the sound of my own voice
speak with confidence & ease
Home in my body
& the homes of everyone before me
running through my blood
all of my family & friends
a web of interconnection
Their gifts
& their struggles
that brought me here
to a place of knowing
that I am where I am supposed to be
as who I am
Here
With me
With this brain,
the firing of neurons
two hemispheres finding balance
an intellect unique to my own,
apart of a grand intelligence
greater than I
Home is Earth
& Life
itself
evolving
into something more than before
Home is our hearts
& hands
Clasped & open
Giving
& receiving
all of our desires & dreams coming true
every hue harmonizing
a mosaic patchwork blanket
we each snuggle up within
before the best nap of our lives
awakening to a new day
of anything we choose
Home is in an embrace,
a simple look of recognition
of being seen
& seeing another light up
Witnessing a smile beaming joy to all around
Home is more than a place or state of mind
yet it is all these things combined
Home is where we decide to sink deeply
while rising up into the clouds
weightless
floating
while still grounded
standing on a stable foundation
a home we built with our own hands
Home Is where I Am
& where You Are
Fully present
found in an inhale
exhale
in simplicity
amidst the complexities of everything
nothing , nowhere (now here)
can be nice too
Home is silence
Home is peace
Home is found when breathing deeply
Inhale
Exhale
Home in this body
for now
