Prayers Need Feet

****

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 2 min read

When you see your fellow man in need

You are being a given a Divine gift.

When you see someone suffering

The Divine is calling out to you

If you are tempted to only say a quick prayer

And then walk on by feeling you have done your part

You are not paying attention

You are being given the opportunity to do the Divine’s work

He’s asking for your help, not prayers

Because Prayers need feet

Hands need to toil

The hands you are clasping in front of you

Need to be unfolded and put in the dirt

You need to reach out, give more than a prayer and help

Your knees need to hit the ground

Not in reverence

But in servitude

And recognition of what your purpose is

Prayers need feet

World injustice does not need

To be memorialized with a meme or an article

That is not enough.

That requires no sacrifice

That requires no love

That only serves to feed your ego

And momentarily assuage your conscience

Because Prayers need feet

The hands you are clasping in front of you

Need to be unfolded and put in the dirt

You need to reach out, give more than a little and help

You knees need to hit the ground

Not in reverence

But in servitude and recognition of what your purpose here is

Prayers need feet

Learn to love like the Dvine i

Share your worldly gifts and knowledge

Do not hoard what has been given to you.

We are not alone

We are not individual, we are not separate

We are one

Help the Divine and answer these prayers

That is what you are being asked to do.

We are ONE with him

Give your will and gifts to the Divine and others

And have faith and the knowledge of why you are here.
