A heavy cloak of silence, thick and deep,

Envelops me, a prisoner I keep.

No words escape, no thoughts are shared,

A solitary soul, deeply scarred.

The air is still, a stagnant pond,

Where echoes of the past resound.

A haunting melody, a mournful tune,

Playing on repeat, beneath the moon.

The silence stings, a venomous bite,

A constant ache, a painful plight.

It creeps into my mind, a parasite,

Consuming thoughts, both day and night.

I yearn for sound, a simple word,

A whisper, soft, a gentle bird.

But silence reigns, a tyrant's rule,

Forcing me to play a fool.

Oh, break this spell, this deadly chain,

Release me from this silent pain.

Let words find voice, let thoughts take flight,

And bring me back from darkest night.
