Pointed Observations

safety first

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

i've swapped all my lids for childproof ones

and that's probably a good place to start

you know if you really think about it

i shouldn't be left alone with anything sharp

but then all the blunt instruments and objects

could pose a real and similar threat

and this is just the first room

i’m not even in the kitchen yet

i ripped up all my towels and sheets

cleaned out the linen press

won't be making a noose with those

so that's one less major stress

emptied my bathroom cupboard and drawers

into boxes and then into the bin

no razors no pills and no hair dryer

i feel like i'm starting to win

the laundry is next and emptied real quick

just about everything has to be tossed

effectively and emotionlessly

their deadly value negates any cost

into the kitchen and i’m on a roll now

and soon all my crockery's smashed

everything that's either pointed or bladed

goes into the pile of the trashed

every single kitchen appliance has been binned

i superglued the door of my oven shut

the electricity has been off for just a day now

but i need to arrange for the gas to be cut

practically every dangerous item

removed from both reach and sight

no covers no caps no belts no straps

all that remains is me and my fight

Powerful. I could feel the need rising in me to just rip and tear and trash, fight the unseen thing inside. Love this!

I felt this and it's so relatable. The fight is real and the fight is constant and the right is hard, but worth it! This exceptional!
