I had remained all my life, anonymous
You had right-brained yourself, anomalous
You left-brained me from the monotonous
Full-mindedly unchained the tenuous
...
I had been forever hopeful
The likes of us would wax growthful
Inside and out — both — beautiful
Giving and taking — both — bountiful
...
But hearts grew apart — disassembled
And, quite differently — reassembled
Without each, singled-down and gambled
Having never been — and the jetsam we resembled
