Poem For The Ready

Letters to Life

By Canuck Scriber Lisa LachapellePublished about a year ago 1 min read

Gentlemen...forgive my wonder, there is no deceit. Forgive my joy to wander on hopeless feet.

Love me anyway for things you'll never understand. I trust my own life plan. So, make your mark upon a soul, perhaps another ones, but whatever you do make yourself whole.

To each their own is not a cross to bear and at least I give life to a chair. Please be needed for a little while in the sifted sacredness of a smile, say a prayer.

What once was lost can always be found, just not the other way around.

The key to a heart is not to take. Reverse the decision for I cannot hold back the bells.

Ifs are tepid, Ifs are wild, Ifs can be many things or a creepy fold that never reaches a cloud. If it wasn't for two of your own I would be here, in this station in life. If it wasn't for two of your constructs, I wouldn't be awake. If it wasn't for two psychics who sold their own souls I would have been settled long ago and living happily ever after.

And for that matter, that's not a fairy tale and barely a song. I never needed anyone to teach me how to get along now did I?

To teach me how to hate so I could be just like you, you had to take everything I loved. Yes I'll never forget you, you, you.

Let your own shadow bring your own doubt to your own door so at least you can own the moment.

Check their pockets and free your mind, and make sure it doesn't happen yet another time. Pretty please.

Let me be the sunshine, let me be the grace, let me be forever nots making haste. That's ok, take your time but seemingly, probably, the longer it takes it will be on your own dime.

Let me mirror your illusions for the time to take you there.

This feels conversational, like a whisper, yet the rhyme and rhythm is all there, all flowing. Great 😃👍
