I have a sewing machine,

It's brand, is not a Singer

Singing melodies,

Or a JUKI made in Japan

Threading with sushi strands,

But a Brother-brand sewing machine,

With no brotherhood.

Near the lever, you can see

It's Eye-- the all seeing Eye

that you see, on one dollar

Bills, with Georgie Washington

Watching you, from the white house

Painted with White Out---

whiting out an amendment:

"Freedom of Speech"

yet with the fourteenth

amendment still visible--

amongst the white marks

of the White Out

to only some--- people of Americana.

Big Brother Sewing Machine!

The Eye of its needle embroidering:

Big Brother Is Watching You.

as Aldous Huxley gently

presses the pedal,

and the lever frantically sewing,

a dystopian Non-Fiction novel.

Wow, so much to unpack in this poem, it reminds me of times in class when trying to understand the lines of Shakespeare! I love a good poem that makes no sense, all the more fun to decipher it 😄
