Please for nothing.

Pleasant desire, pleasant delight,

Pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the sight,

Pleasure to have for a delightful time,

But all was lost from such a horrid crime,

Pleasant to the smell, pleasant to the taste,

Pleasant for the moment, yet surely a waste,

Pleasantly sounding with words to persuade,

Better to resist then to continue to fade,

Pleasant to the eyes, pleasant to start,

Pleasing to the rapidly beating heart,

Go as you please for all is for nought,

Only to discover all you have wrought!

Such is the way for desire to appease,

The consequences of merely doing as you please…
