The word "they" is telling in this haiku. The breathy structure of this poem allows so much to go unsaid. I get to imagine who "they" are -- parents, friends, a lover, a spouse, kids? Other? Your placement of "they" gives so much room for interpretation. I love how you bring in complex emotion in these few, well chosen words and structure. Beautifully written!
They’re a big responsibility. But it’s unconditional love, no societal norms to contend with 😁
