Permanent Silence

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Sweet, satiable, silence,

inaction being dissected,

everything under a microscope.

The once eloquent vocabulary

replaced by the pins dropping in a room filled with no one.

Smiles no longer appear

laughter is no longer heard.

A needle and thread through the lips

pull it shut and tie the knot.

The words spoken should have been heeded as a warning,

yes and no, leaving no room for misinterpretation,

but those ears were closed too,

reciprocate the results.

Wasted breath is not an option

I will close the once opened doors to my heart.

My words meant nothing,

so enjoy my silence.
