Meaningless Words

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Promises, promises fall from your lips,

like a monologue you've memorized from some scripts,

knowing how a heart can break

you pay no mind to the unbearable ache.

A fool, a fool you made people be,

but the real fool is you, you see

you hurt, you break, you throw away

anyone who doesn't like the game you play.

Alone, alone you have become,

your heart has hardened, hollow and numb

any chance to find your way back in

doesn't exist, is the past, a world that could have been.

Good-bye, good-bye to you

I hope this lesson can remain true

the words you think are meaningless from your scripts

feel like slashes from several whips.
