Peace In Israel Peace In Palestine 11/11/2023

This history is hysterical. I take a historical view today.

The war warps on

Without end in sight

What has history to do with it

75 years and 274 days of death!

Perhaps one of the longest-running conflicts

Marred by wars and uprisings.

Confused by continuous cycles of violence and retaliation.

Bearing brunt both ways.

Check these grim dates of pain:

1917 – the British Balfour Declaration delivers not Jewish homeland

1948 - the United Nations proposes two states, fails

1967- the sees Six-Day War, Egypt, Syria and Israel, death

1973 – the Yom Kippur surprise attack war in Israel, death and pain

1987-1993 sees the First Palestine Uprising, two states solution fails

2000 -2005: sees the Second Palestine Uprising also futile towards peace

2006 – There was Lebanon War but no peace

2008 -2009 – There was Gaza War but no peace

2012 – The famed Operation Pillar of Defence, war but no peace

2014 – The famed Operation Protective Edge, war but no peace

2021- Here again was Gaza Conflict, war but no peace

2023 – Here again Hamas invades Israel, war is on going

I seek not to present the result

Of these heinous wars on both sides

I seek to show the pain purred too long

For this is land, noted as of milk and honey

Room should be for all, beneath the sun

Given by God.

There is text to that effect.

Then many a faith call Israel or Jerusalem home

Christianity, Judaism, Bahai, Islam

There is text to that too.

Beyond the ancient texts and lore

Can’t bridges arise, to fill gaps and heal scars

And build a peace, that will endure

We’ve seen that fanaticism, spreads its poison

We’ve seen that violence breeds, more violence

And deepens wounds, that time can't heal.

To beg to see a wiser path instead

A path of dialogue, and shared bread

Is to beg to see harmony, where all can live

And build a future, bold and free.

This harmony can only stand on solid ground

Thus we stand, united as one, for peace.
