Paths Winding

your best walk

By Seashell Harpspring Published 5 months ago Updated 5 months ago 1 min read

On your journey through the trails you started with other people,

but eventually your paths would wind away from one another

You chose different lives that separated you,

or there was a bump in the path that rattled you away from one another

Now find yourself alone and consuming the nature

You look all around and think back to how you came to this point

A new person appears to find you on the path

They ask you the steps taken to get to this point

You just shrug because their question seemed loaded

It was as if they thought you had a way to come to this,

or a type of plan you went by for these situations to happen.

It was not that way at all though.

You would enjoy someone's company and something would happen

You would then suddenly find yourself alone again

It would hurt but every time it just ended up for the best,

because you enjoyed the time where you got to reflect within nature

The other person kept following you around though

They were trying to instruct you and pushed you to different path points

They thought they were helping, but to you it was controlling

You would like to live life in a way that made sense to you

You eventually separated from the person and got to trek on

They tried to find you in the paths each time, but you would get away

A guide would be helpful,

but they were just taking up the saddle

You needed some autonomy and freedom to be happy

To dazzle each and every day

Just wanting to keep walking your best walk

and not let it be minimized or diluted.

It's always weird to me how we lose people.. Like I remember a time where I was inseparable from a friend. I haven't seen her in 14 years. It's weird when people we know became who we knew and how often that repeats itself. Nice story 👏
