Have you ever had nights where you couldn’t see?
You look to see what path to take
The moon shines but lights up nothing
The fire within dies slowly
Surroundings were once bright illuminations
Now are dim and dark
With what little light you have left
You stumble crawl run
Whatever you can to escape the night
You reach a clearing and stand in the eye
Blinding shadows reach all around you
Knees to chest, rocking back and forth
Your heart slowly accepts
Your body coldly awaits
But your soul
Your soul does not
It does not accept
Does not weaken
Does not falter
Does not wane
Its strength is foreign to you
You, who thought it was empty
It, who knows no limits
The soul draws from this limitless source
And refills you
Suddenly
That dying fire roars to life
Its heat warming every bone
Your heart picks up pace
And pushes you forward
The shadows disappear
Revealing the paths you can take
Walking confidently into the unknown
Not because the moon has shown you
But because your soul will guide you
Knowing that no matter where you go
You will always find your way
