Love Thoughts

What the heart deserves

By Michael Ellington Henry JamesPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
Black Love

Who are you to tell me

Im not warm enough

Deserving of summer and winter love

Spring and fall songs

And you've never seen love's horizon

Or climbed the same mountain

Just to get a glance at a sunset that brings a new moon

So damn beautiful you'd just stare and swoon

Take it home with u hang it in your room

Everytime you see it

think of me making my way

back to you soon

Who are you tell me i don't want you

the way birds crave freedom

Or how love keeps hearts beating

You dont know what I know

How me n love have midnight dates

Got secret handshakes

and got inside jokes

Have love take me on boat rides

Leaving me wanting more if that high

I need it the way moon needs the sun

The way flowers need rain to come

The way the shore needs a sea

The way kings need queens

Who are you to tell me

I dont deserve love for me

you dont know what I know

Or what im capable of

That thru all the pain

I still stayed the same

And im still open to love

love poems
