Parting

good-bye

By KikiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
kiss him good-bye

The taste of his coffee reminded her of his kiss, warm with a hint of bitterness.

She gazed downward with each sip at the abandoned roses scattered by the saucer.

Their delicate color had faded, but their scent still lingered; flavoring the morning air with a flowery bouquet.

She reached for the cream pouring a steady, generous stream into the blackness.

The next sip was soft and sweet.

She smiled and placed the empty cup back onto the saucer, leaving nothing but her coral colored lip print to kiss him good-bye.
