A Thousand Photo's
Slivers of time captured
i’ve got a thousand photos of you
that i won’t look at again today
probably not tomorrow either
there’s a stain in the shirt
i leant you
that aint gonna wash away
.
i’ve got a thousand photos of you
they put holes in parts of me
pierced through
i bleed video stills
of captured smiles
static history
.
i’ve got a thousand photos of you
that i'll never look at again
i don’t need –
to tear open
these wounds
i don’t need that pain
.
i’ve got a thousand photos of you
that i don’t wanna see
especially the ones –
i have
the ones of you and me

The pain seeps through here in a tangible way. That type of betrayal cuts deep and every time you smell coffee brewing - it’s a reminder. Every time you hear a song that you enjoyed together - it rips a new hole in your soul. Perusing old photos is both a blessing and a curse. This little poem states it beautifully.
Swell poem and truly describes heartbreak and sadness at looking at old photos. 💕 the 2nd to last stanza has “that’s” and I think you meant “that.” 🤗
