Paper Planes

A poem

Planes of paper.

Empty, not barren.

Patiently waiting

For cultivation.

Creased, etched, inscribed,

Torn in frustration.

Left to accumulate

Dust.

Piled high on desks.

Refuse.

Shelf warmer is better,

Best seller somehow not best.

Stained with ink in

Meticulous fashion.

Hoarded by collectors,

Disregarded by masses.

Save for those pages that

Serve them their lashes.

Paper planes fly,

Planes of paper inspire

Ink stains and confessions,

And unspoken desire.

Hi JD - I see you don't have much time; so I'll be brief: I'm so glad that I've just discovered your eclectic presentations. *As I scroll through them I've subscribed with pleasure - So terrific and a rarity to see 'original' presentations of late among the snippers with sharp scissors. Fun memory: My name was permanently embossed on the school V.P.'s office chair since I flew my folded airplane messages across the room with precision; pre digital age. I'm not a writer, just a retired legal professional; a simple storyteller to archive 'For the Kids Someday.' Not into contests or self promotion. I just enjoy doing my Silly Sketches to lead into my Shorts; nothing more. I will delete this in a few so as not to invade your privacy. I will be following your offerings. Jk.in.l.a. Strange how paper planes and actual planes (and airports) inspire some of the same emotions noted here. Wonderful TS!
