Own personal burn

Blisters left behind.

By Marissa KnappertPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The sting you get even if you just move half an inch, or from the slightest touch of another person's fingertips pressed gently against your skin.

The chills that randomly appear with goosebumps covering your body even though you can feel the heat radiating off of your bare naked self.

When you attempt to soothe yourself but nothing brings you relief, Throwing you into a rush of everything that makes a sunburn so painful in the blink of an eye...at this moment I realized what you reminded me off.

You’re the outcome I never thought possible.

Our time spent together are the happy and joy filled days in the sun, laughing and smiling with so much love surrounding us, I’m not realizing how much you and the sun are burning me as the hours tick by. As the day comes close to an end, and the sun starts to dissipate behind the trees and mountains you can start to see the red covering my body, I can start to feel the sting from the residue that’s your soul.

You’re my own personal sunburn that will forever remind me to tread carefully and protect myself with a layer of sunscreen, The protection I never thought I would possibly need and Just like that, My moments in the sun turn to the worst pain to ever blister across my body, outlining all the places you have touched.
