I’m shaking because I just saw you
I was walking around with the hope that I would
maybe we would cross paths,
And it happened
Sitting in the shadows near a low-hanging tree on campus
Minding your business but all alone
In a matter of seconds, my heart picks up speed
I’m deadly aware of all the people around me,
But I decide to say something
You don’t even look at me,
I get a small wave and a nod instead
It was over but minutes later, it was still on my mind
Sitting alone now, as you were,
I question,
What else can I say?
How do I make this okay?
Yet all I can do now is look for you there
On the bench in the shade
