Out of Body

Free Verse Poem

By Aspen Marie Published 9 months ago 1 min read
Photograph: mine

During the bleakest hour of my

Tenebrous immurement

A riven marionette in yin pose

The moment came of oracular dissolution

Rising up above my physical form

Floating past the Ferris wheel

I was bound to

Through our solar system and beyond our galaxy

To complete stillness

Severed from all time, space, and self

Indigo absence of all sensation

Absolute peace

Finally felt for the first time

Returning to myself, eyes clear

Rivulets of tears during my transcendental journey

Had washed away a bitter blindfold

Of my own making

I hope death’s moment

Is the same journey

To a new galaxy

Full of stars
