How did one song send me crumbling
Make my knees bend
My heart quake
Was it the ever-present thought of you
That seemingly danced with every pitch
Or its words, that bounced within my heart
Holding pieces of you with each syllable
Maybe it was the calm hum
That send waves of sorrow
Making me drown in bitterness
As a gasp for your name
And as it comes to an end
As the climax rolls in
So to, do my feelings for you
With everything we’ve shared
Morphing into a memory
The only evidence that “ we” happened
A small replay button
Which only I could hear over and over again
