Last night, I lay in bed—
so tired from the thoughts in my head
I closed my eyes,
and let myself rest.
I saw us—
your eyes meeting mine,
your lips painted a wide smile,
your brown eyes wrinkled,
As you planted your love on my forehead.
You slowly grabbed my waist.
I felt your hold grow tighter.
Then you pulled away,
And stared into my eyes…
As if they were your own stars.
Ah— you pinched my nose,
Tickled every part of me…
Then held every part of me.
Light pouring into a room,
we were playing again, my love.
Laughing on the tiny, blurry balcony.
You were chasing me,
playing hide and seek.
Euphoria ran so deep…
And deep,
And deeper,
I fell—
almost jumped in my bed…
The sun began to rise,
Sunlight kissed my face.
I opened my eyes.
It was really nice seeing you again—
on the other side of my world.

..turning my inner world into a language.
These are pieces of me, caught in time.
These poems were never meant to be anything more than my way of surving..
If you find yourself somewhere inside them, then maybe they were pieces of you too.
