Firstly, a correction. It is the Haiku Honey? challenge and not Honey Haiku? as I have put in the subtitle. Note to self: editing is important.

This was written in response to a challenge set in the Vocal Social Society by Caroline Jane, details below:

There are so many things that I like to eat that it was difficult to focus on one. Took a lot of tasting to finally decide which one to write about, which was a chore in itself.

But here goes. I feel so British right now but these are one of my favourite things to eat. Hope you enjoy the experience with me.

*****

Golden top, fruit plump,

Smeared with tartness, like red lips

Clotted cap of cream.

Oh yeah. Is there anything better than an afternoon tea with scones, jam, and cream? I don't think there is and what a celebration of the Great British scone this is! I could definitely devour one right now! 😋 Thanks for playing along Rachel. ❤️
