To write is to feel truth

Crotchet soft yarn of language

Sculpt bodies of explanation

Paint emotion and reaction

Dip your fingers in the sweetly colored acrylic

Feel the slide of its wetness against your print

The sticky and unexpected weight of its thickness

To smear the illusory stain of love

Against the canvas of a page

Of a Life

Dip into the heat of the oils and waters

Cleanse the brush and bristles and brow

Laugh and lick and suckle till

The mere ecstasy of the moment translates through

Ink stained touches upon mirrored gazes

Echoes of melody reverberating within the drum

Climb higher and higher with every epithet

Lexeme twisting like limbs

Dancing

Under sparkling night sky

Dripping with sugarplum lines

A tête à tête of versification

Moving to the rhythm of heart and mind

Circling the bud of imagination

Whirling closer and closer with every breath

Every flick of the finger

Reaching the cloying peak burning with passion

Crescendo

Revel in the knowing

Lay still in the creation as wind

Caresses sweaty syntax and well

Spent microcosms of conception

Descend with ease and calm

Stretch limb and muscle and mouth

Pen and paper and joy

Absorb the pleasure of the word

Sense its everlasting truth
