Monsoon Tears

Drowned by sadness

Monsoon Tears

One word.

That’s all it took.

No thunder,

no curtain fall.

Just breath gone strange

and nothing at all.

I stood like fools do,

calm on the skin,

storm in the chest,

cracking within.

You didn’t shout.

You didn’t slam.

You just pulled back

from who I am.

And that’s when it hit.

Not loud, not soon.

Just one tear

that fell

like a monsoon.

No warning bell.

No outward mess.

Just rain that filled

my ribcage,

pressed

against my lungs

and wouldn’t stop.

Not with air.

Not with time.

Not even with God.

You left no mark

the world could see.

Just water,

salt,

and the wreck of me.
