On the Shore

A sonnet for the love of my life

Shall I compare you to the rocky shore?

You are my safe harbour from the cold night.

I thought I would never find land before.

Even though I wished with all of my might.

Stranded, I longed for the day I would die,

When I would spend eternity in the sea.

You found me. I will not drown; I will fly.

I have the will to live. How can that be?

You are all I need. No longer hopeless.

I never knew hope, did not feel before.

You always guide me from the darkness,

Just like the lighthouse on the rocky shore.

Now I know that I am not too far gone.

I'll kiss you like you're the sand I walk on.
