On A Train
Watching Time Pass
The trees whizz by like lightning
Or shooting stars up in the sky
Sitting here reclining
Writing rhymes, to pass the time
Upfront a baby babbles
As the sun peeks through the blinds
The people, much like scrabble tiles
Different worlds different lives
All come together in this moment
Some smiling as the wander by
Another vast assortment
Of people who touch my life
A few short, fleeting hours
Most I will never see again
My eyes, their faces scour
As I travel on this train
Momentary meetings
That temporarily makes me think
Will my solitary greeting
Expose the me I want for them to meet

Lovely poem. I think you meant they instead of the at one point. Still beautiful though!
I have met so many wonderful humans on trains throughout Europe. I love the feeling you recount; spread good nature and hope in humanity ❤️
This sounded so melodious, I loved it. And it is about real life, which makes it even more awesome.
This is beautiful, and relatable.
You sure give a great impression of a train trip. Good work.
Lovely poem, Kelli. I like the idea of musing the idle moments on a train. Reminds me of the many train trips I took when I lived in Germany, my happiest travel memories.
Nicely done it.
Exceptional piece, enjoyed it
